Project Value: £7 million
This building is the flagship of the £21M project for four Community Fire and Rescue Stations for the Gloucestershire Fire And Rescue Service.
The project comprises a six appliance bay community firefighting station, community facilities and a new Life Skills Centre. The Fire Station is complete with living spaces and bespoke training facilities including a purpose built training building which enables firefighters to train on a range of practical scenarios such as ladder work, breathing apparatus and search and rescue. The training building incorporates a basement area which can be used for both firefighting and flooding training to test and develop firefighters' operational skills.
The Life Skills Centre (SkillZONE) is interactive life skills village where people of all ages can learn how to keep themselves safe whether at home or in their community. The Centre offers safety education and bespoke programmes for schools and community groups.
